Cheesy apple quesadillas

Apple slices and chunks of cheese make and ideal healthy dessert but not all kids are happy eating raw fruit. This recipe for apple and cheese quesadillas will appeal to those children who would not eat fruit on its own.

Ingredients

2 apple (thinly sliced)
6 tortilla (whole wheat tortillas)
1 1⁄2 c cheese
2 T butter

Instructions

Thinly slice apples. Sprinkle tortillas with cheese.Layer several slices of apple on each tortilla. Add more cheese on top of the apple slices. Fold tortillas in half. 

Heat butter in skillet and cook quesidillas in skillet until cheese is melted and tortillas browned (both sides), this takes about 2 minutes per side.

Notes

Kids develop their sense of taste from the baby stage and there are no more exacting gastronomes than them. The sweetness of the apple and the salty cheese make a perfect contrast to please these little gourmet palates.
