Chicken fingers

Home made chicken fingers are healthy option for toddlers and onward. Serve chicken fingers from the late independence stage. They are great for family meals.

Ingredients

4 pce chicken (skinless & boneless chicken breasts fillets, cut into strips)
1⁄3 c cereal (crushed corn flakes)
1⁄2 c pecan nuts (finely chopped)
1 pn garlic (garlic powder)
2 T milk
  salt (to taste)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400° Fahrenheit.

Combine cornflakes, pecans, garlic powder and salt on a shallow plate.

Place milk into a little dish. Dip the chicken strips into the milk, then into the corn flake mixture.

Arrange the breaded strips into a baking pan and bake in the oven for about 8-10 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink inside.

Notes

The ideal size for chicken strips is 1 inch x 3 inches.

This chicken fingers are suitable for a gluten free diet - for instance, for those kids with gluten intolerance, as the corn flakes used for the coating are free from gluten. Corn and rice are the two cereals with no gluten.
