Sugar shapes

Sugar shapes are a delicious treat that is very easy to make.

Ingredients

2 c sugar (confectioner's sugar)
1 t lemon (the juice)
  coloring (food coloring, your taste)
  candy (candy drops to make eyes and nose, sprinkles)

Instructions

In a bowl, beat egg white until frothy but not too stiff.

Pour confectioner's sugar through a sieve into the bowl and mix it with the egg white. Add a drops of lemon juice until the mixture is soft.

Separate a small amount of the mixture in another bowl and add food coloring, drop by drop.

Take a lump of any sugar mixture, roll and knead into a shape of your choice.

Place the sugar shapes on a baking sheet in a cool spot and leave them to set. It will take about 2 hours.

Notes

Use cookie cutters to cut shapes. Use colored sugar mixture to make more interesting sweets. For instance, shape the white mix into mice and rabbits, color some sugar mixture pink and use it to make ears.

Candy drops or silver balls can make eyes and ears. Use candy string to make tails for the mice and sugar cotton to make tails for the rabbits.

Very young kids can help, any child who plays with dough can make sugar figures.
